Mission accomplished! All contractual obligations fulfilled in time.

4. 1. 2010

When WVZ Finow GmbH & Co.KG took over the airfield from the state of Brandenburg in December 2002, WVZ accepted the obligation to demolish and remove the old military buildings and to discard all waste deposits latest until end of 2009.

On December 23th, 2009 the state representative of BVS (formerly Brandenburgische Bodengesellschaft), Mrs. Muche met with the General Managers Mr. Reinhard Otto (WVZ) and Mr. Reinhard Wolk (Tower Finow) to verify the final completion of these contractual obligations. Mr. Reinhard Wolk reported the volume of this work exceeding the expectations:

In total 131.000 m³ of construction volume have been demolished, leading to about 15.800 t of broken concrete and brickwork. About 85% of it could be treated to recycling material, the rest had been discarded. As last demolition action the regional THW brigade properly apportioned a chimney by a training blast. See the tv report.
Beside of this about 1.400 t waste (760 t special dangerous waste) have been discarded.
The original obligation to hold a minimum of 3 employees has been surpassed by the reality: 5 employees with the operation company and about 75 employees with the enterprises which have settled in the meantime.

Mrs. Muche confirmed the airport investor having fulfilled all commitments to the very last point and BVS is happy to confirm the final conclusion of this successful conversion project. Picking up this subject Mr. Otto stated, the airport owners would have been happy to invest further in the upgrade to a regular regional airport as stipulated under article 9 of the privatisation contract. The state of Brandenburg’s withdrawal from this understanding leads to the insane situation, that the private airport investor has to claim at court his right to fulfill his obligations.
